Martin Moran (Guitar)

Martin has been a guitar player since his early teens he studied under such notable musicians as Dave O'Rourke, Hugh Buckley and Jimmy Faulkner. Martin attended Ballyfermot Rock School where he further developed his technical and theoretical music knowledge. He has been teaching for twelve years and plays in various venues in Dublin. Martin recently achieved an Honours Degree in Music with with the Open University.


Kevin Ward (Guitar)

His musical talents range from guitar and mandolin playing, to singing, as well as being skilled in instrument repair (late of McCullough Piggots). He has studied with jazz Guitarists Dave O'Rourke and Hugh Buckley and taught at the Ballyfermot Rock School. He is currently a member of the 'Tallafornian Mandolin Band' and 'The Big Blouse Blues Band'.


Phil Callery (Fiddle/Singing)

Phil has been making music since the late 1960's starting out in Dublin's folk club scene. He is probably best known for his partnership with 'The Voicesquad' In 1970 he founded the Singer's Club which provided a stage for singers such as Dolores Keane, Christy Moore, Mary Black and Paul Brady. 'From the Edge of Memory'his first solo album is a collection from traditional and contempory sources.


Niamh Ní Bheolain (Fiddle)

Niamh is a musician from Tallaght specialising in the fiddle. She began learning the Tin Whistle under Des Carty's careful tutoring and later went to excel at the Fiddle, winning various feiseanna and first prize in the Lenster Fiddle Championships 1992. She has been teaching for the last couple of years in local schools and was a member of the 'Tallafornian Mandolin Band' Niamh holds an Honours Degree in Music Education from Trinity College.


Jenny Fahey (Tin Whistle)

Jenny began learning music at the age of seven, starting with the tin-whistle and going on to excel in the piano and flute. She completed her teaching diplomas at the age of seventeen and has been teaching since. She played classical at competition level both in Ireland and the UK but now concentrates on her love of traditional irish music. Jenny also toured Australia for six months after meeting an Irish band while on holiday. These days she can be found playing in various sessions throughout Ireland, while also expanding her repertoire learning the fiddle. Although a young musician, she has a very bright future ahead of her, and her skill and enthusiasm speak for themselves.



Aoife Nash (Fiddle)

Aoife is an upcoming musician from Ballyhooly, Co. Cork. She started the fiddle at the age of 14, taught by such fiddle players as Yvonne Leahy, Meabh O'Hare and Jerry Harrington. Aoife taught with C.C.E. Fearmú until moving to Dublin to study for a H.N.D. in Traditional Irish Music Performances in B.C.F.E. where she is currently learning from musicians such as Paul McGrattan, Paul Kelly, Michelle O'Brein and Kevin Glackin.


James Ryan (Mandolin/Banjo)

James is a young musician who started playing at the age of 16 under the tutelage of Tom Moran in Coláiste Chillian. He also plays guitar, bouzouki, and has recently taken up the fiddle. He has played throughout the country at some of the foremost venues, from Matt Molloys to the National Concert Hall. He has recently completed a Higher Diploma course in Professional Traditional Music Performance in Ballyfermot College with teachers like Paul Mc Grattan, Paul Kelly and Kevin Glackin. At the moment James is kept busy performing and teaching music around Galway.


Liz Coleman (Fiddle)

Liz has played music all her life and with an extensive musical background has played in many different groups and ensembles. She has completed classical grades 1-8 R.I.A.M. on both the violin and piano. Liz is a member of the Dublin Youth Orchestra but has recently concentrated on traditional music. A prominent player on the Galway session scene, she has taught in various academies and schools and has also toured in Ireland, Europe and the US. She has appeared at festivals such as the Ennis Trad Festival, the Liverpool Irish Fest, Lorient Interceltique and the Indiannapolis Irish Fest. Liz has completed a Higher Diploma in Irish Music Performance and is currently pursuing her studies in NUI Galway.


Ciaran O Donghaile (Uileann Pipes, Flute & Tin Whistle)

Ciaran is from Derry and started playing tin whistle in school at the age of eight. He started the flute at the age of fifteen, and moved on to the pipes when he was sixteen. He spent three years studying traditional music in Falcarragh in the north-west of Donegal, during which time he played in many bands. He has toured around Ireland, Scotland, Romania and Belgium. He achieved a Higher Diploma in Traditional Music. In Donegal he taught with the Cloch Cheann Fhaola branch of Comhaltas. He is currently living in Galway furthering his music studies.
